Yes. SteadyCut is a free online video stabilizer. No account is needed to choose, stabilize, and export a video.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Video analysis, preview, and export run locally in your browser. Your selected video and exported result are not sent to a server or saved in the app cache.
Can I stabilize videos offline?
Yes, after the app confirms it is ready for offline use. Visit once while connected to cache the app, then reopen it in the same browser or installed app. Clearing browser storage removes offline availability.
Which video formats work?
You can select MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV files. Actual decoding and export depend on your browser, device, and the codecs inside the file. A file extension alone does not guarantee support.
Which browser should I use?
Use an up-to-date browser that supports video decoding and encoding. The app checks basic support, then checks the selected file and encoder during processing. Some codecs remain unavailable on particular devices.
How do smoothness and crop settings work?
Higher smoothness reduces slower wobbles but can follow intentional pans less closely. Adaptive crop varies zoom, fixed crop uses a consistent zoom, and no crop can expose edges. Max crop limits the zoom correction.
What happens to audio?
The export pipeline preserves supported audio when the browser and output format allow it. Audio may require conversion or be omitted if unsupported. Check the downloaded result before relying on it.
What can I export?
Download a stabilized MP4 at the original resolution, 1080p, or 720p. Smaller resolution choices do not upscale your source. Quality options trade file size against visual quality.
Why does stabilization sometimes look weaker?
Blur, low texture, moving subjects, and extreme camera movement can reduce tracking quality. Stabilization cannot recover missing detail or guarantee perfect results. Large videos also need more device memory and processing time.
Will installing the app keep it up to date?
The app checks for new versions when online. Updates apply automatically when all open sessions are idle. A selected video or unfinished download is protected until you choose to update or close that session.
